A Sweet Misfortune: Maggie Brendan

Maggie Brendan’s A Sweet Misfortune is a fun little jaunt into the old west. It’s definitely a light, quick read in traditional inspirational fiction format. The plot and characters are fairly one dimensional, and while I wouldn’t put this book in my “favorites” category, I did enjoy it. It’s great reading for vacation or a lazy afternoon, and with themes of loss, family, contentment, and faith in God’s provision, you’ll finish the last page feeling a little more hopeful. i am me. i love jesus, adore my kids, deeply admire my husband, and i really like to laugh. sometimes i forget all of these things, but the rediscovery is almost as fun as that first moment of realization!
